How EventScreen works for viewers
EventScreen is a pay-per-view live streaming platform. Independent organizers run a live event, set a ticket price, and you pay once to watch that event. This page walks through what happens from finding an event to watching it.
1. Find an event
Public events are listed on the events page, grouped into live now, upcoming and replay. You can search by event name, organizer, team or tag, and you can open an organization's own page to see everything it has published. Some events are private. A private event does not appear in any listing and can only be opened from the link its organizer shares with you.
2. Buy a ticket
Each event page shows the price, the date and time, and a description from the organizer. A ticket is a single payment for that event, and it covers the live broadcast and the replay while the replay window is open. Payments are processed by Stripe. Some events are free, and for those you only need to sign in.
Some organizers also offer a monthly subscription that covers all of their events while it is active, or a bundle that covers a fixed set of events, such as a season or a tournament, for one price. When an organizer offers either, it is shown on the event page.
3. Sign in
There is no password. You enter your email address and we send you a sign-in link. The same email address is used to confirm your purchase, so use one you can open on the device you want to watch from. On a TV, the EventScreen app shows a short code and a QR code so you can sign in from your phone instead of typing.
4. Watch live
The stream appears on the event page once the organizer goes live. The player chooses a video quality that fits your connection and moves between qualities as your connection changes. If you fall behind during a live event, a button takes you back to the live edge. A ticket plays on one device at a time. If you start watching on a second device, the first one stops.
5. Watch the replay
When a live event ends, its recording stays available for a replay window set by the organizer, which defaults to 7 days. After the window closes the recording is deleted and the replay can no longer be watched.
Free events and ads
An organizer can run an event for free. A free event may show a short ad before the stream starts, and an organizer can replace that ad with one of their own. Paid events do not show ads before the stream. You are asked how you want ads to be tailored, and you can choose to keep them generic.
Refunds
If an organizer cancels an event before it starts, your ticket is refunded in full. Once an event has aired, tickets are generally not refundable. The details are in the Terms of Service.
